Weekly Stream Conditions
Creel Clerk Reports
Lower Shore (Lester to Stewart rivers)
River conditions are changing rapidly. Most rivers are now open and fishable, but flows remain relatively high, turbid, and cold. Ice is still present in many rivers and at several river mouths, and ongoing snowmelt is keeping water temperatures low. Some anglers have been fishing the rivers, but reports of fish caught have been limited. Anglers near river mouths have had mixed success over the past week, catching both unclipped (wild) and clipped (stocked) steelhead. Fishing conditions are expected to improve over the next week.
Middle Shore (Silver Creek to Baptism River)
River conditions in the middle shore are similar to the lower shore. River conditions are changing rapidly. Most rivers are now open and fishable, but flows remain high, turbid, and cold. Ice is still present in many rivers and at several river mouths, and ongoing snowmelt is keeping water temperatures low. Some anglers have been fishing the rivers but catch reports have been limited. Anglers near river mouths have had some success catching coho salmon and steelhead. Fishing conditions are expected to improve over the next week.
Upper Shore (Cross to Brule rivers)
Rivers are flowing well and are much higher than last week, with snow and anchor ice still present in most systems. A few anglers have been fishing the rivers but catch reports have been limited. Fishing conditions are expected to improve over the next week.
