Lower Shore (Lester to Stewart rivers)
Rivers are starting to wake up for spring, but ice is still present in most rivers and at many river mouths. Conditions are expected to change rapidly this weekend and into next week, with daytime highs in the 40s–60s and overnight temperatures staying above freezing. Some anglers have already found success fishing near river mouths, catching both unclipped (wild) and clipped (stocked) steelhead over the past week.
Middle Shore (Silver Creek to Baptism River)
Middle Shore rivers are beginning to open up for spring, but ice is still present in many systems and at several river mouths. Conditions are expected to change quickly this weekend and into next week, with daytime highs in the 40s–60s and overnight temperatures remaining above freezing. Some anglers are finding success fishing near river mouths in the lake, catching coho salmon and steelhead.
Upper Shore (Cross to Brule rivers)
Rivers are flowing slightly but remain unfishable, with significant ice and snow still present in most rivers. Conditions are expected to change quickly this weekend and into next week, with daytime highs in the 40s–50s and overnight temperatures remaining above freezing.
