Firearm Hunts

Grouse Hunt

October 23-25, 2026.  To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Wildlife Management Areas, we are hosting a Grouse Hunt at Norris Camp, located in the Red Lake WMA. The housing is rustic but historic, offering a unique experience.  Mentors will lead small groups of women out on the many trails in the WMA. Participants must have their Firearm Safety certificate and attend the mandatory shooting session October 11, 2026.  To register, please contact Linda.Radimecky@state.mn.us

Deer Hunt

December 4-6, 2026, Osprey Wilds ELC, fee $150. Fee includes two-day women’s mentored hunt, firearms and ammunition, platform stands, lodging and meals. To register for the hunt or request more information, email linda.radimecky@state.mn.us. Space is limited.

This is a great opportunity for women to learn how to deer hunt with a firearm. Prior to the hunt we will host a class to learn deer hunting basics, regulations, safety and to practice range shooting. This class will likely be scheduled for November 15. Women will need to be firearm safety certified (FAS) and purchase a hunting license to participate in this hunt. You can take FAS on-line  any time prior to the December hunt.
