Archery Hunting Basics Webinar: Select past webinars, search Archery Hunting Basics, select episode 48. Learn how to select a hunting compound bow and accessories to hunt. Desiree Holmberg, volunteer with the Becoming an Outdoors Woman program, will share her experience learning to archery hunt.
Session 2: Women’s Learn to Shoot Archery
DATE: February 7, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.

Join instructor Desiree Holmberg for the basics of archery equipment and for a practice shoot. Bring your own equipment to shoot. If you need equipment let Desiree know when you register. This class is optional for women who have attended a BOW workshop archery class or are proficient at target practice.
Session 3: Women’s Archery Equipment for new hunters
DATE: February 28, 9 – 10:30 a.m.
HOST: Cabin Fever, 1550 Arboretum Blvd, Victoria MN
REGISTER: Fee $25, email Desiree to register at desiree+bow@archerycountry.com
This class will cover the equipment that is needed to hunt. Learn about bows, arrows, releases, etc. Learn how a bow is property fitted to the individual and draw weight. There will be time to do a practice shoot at the end. This class is optional for women who already have their hunting equipment.
Session 4: Archery hunting broadheads sight-in and shoot, Mandatory class for Hunt
DATE: April 1, 5 - 6:30 p.m.
HOST: A-1 Archery, 587 Lenertz Rd, Hudson WI

This class is required for the women who are participating in the MN DNR's BOW turkey hunt. Women must have their own equipment and should bring along one practice broadhead to sight in their bows. We will also cover some tips and tricks to help you be successful in the blind.
Session 5: Turkey hunting clinic, Mandatory class for Hunt
DATE: April 2, Thursday 6:30 p.m. start
HOST: A-1 Archery, 587 Lenertz Rd, Hudson WI
REGISTER: Free, registration not required
This class is mandatory for women participating in the April archery hunt. This in-person clinic is also open to the public and will focus on the basics of archery turkey hunting. The DNR website has pre-recorded videos on how to hunt turkeys if you’re needing a refresher prior to the hunt.
Session 6: 3-D Archery Shoot, Mandatory class for Hunt
DATE: April 18, 10 a.m. start
HOST: Chilakoot Bowhunters, 373 165th Ave, Somerset, WI
REGISTER: $20, register by emailing valleylettering@gmail.com
Come prepared for this class by practicing your shooting skills prior to this 3-D shoot. You will learn how to judge shooting distance, where to aim, and when to shoot for a good shot. This class is mandatory for women participating in the archery hunt. Bring your sighted in equipment and practice arrows for this shoot.
Session 7: Women’s Mentored Archery Turkey Hunt
DATE: April 24 – 26
HOST: BOW at U of M Cedar Creek, East Bethel MN
FEE & REGISTER: Limit 10, Fee $150, register at Linda.Radimecky@state.mn.us
This is a weekend mentored turkey archery hunt at UM Cedar Creek in East Bethel MN. Hunt includes a mentor, hunting blinds, decoys, instruction, and two-nights lodging. Participants will be asked to bring food for potluck dinners. Women need their own hunting bow and hunting arrows, archery turkey license, clothing and cooler to transport game.
