Linda Radimecky

Becoming an Outdoors Woman has a New Coordinator

Hello, I am Linda Radimecky and am excited to be the new BOW coordinator! I know I have some big shoes to fill in this position!  I have been working as a Naturalist for many years and started with Minnesota State Parks and Trails in 1991. The former BOW coordinator, Linda Bylander asked me if I would teach classes for BOW - I jumped at the chance and have been teaching women’s classes for about 20 years. I enjoy fly fishing and teaching women how to fly fish, tie knots, tie flies and be safe in the outdoors. I have been the chair of Fly Fishing Women of Minnesota, a board member of Kiap-TU-WISH Trout Unlimited chapter in western Wisconsin, a fly fishing instructor for Casting for Recovery, a firearms safety (FAS) instructor, and am a basic archery instructor trainer (BAIT) with 120 instructors trained to date. I also enjoy target shooting, bird watching, being outside and exploring new places – there are so many great places to see in Minnesota and around the Country! I look forward to the opportunity to continue the work Linda Bylander and Jean Bergeson started 31 years ago when the BOW program started in Minnesota.

I love getting women and girls involved in outdoor recreation opportunities and wait for the days when I ask a girl, “What is one of your favorite outdoor memories?” . . . And the answer is, “Fishing/hunting/being outside with my mom (or grandma)!”
