After 24 years of service with the State of Minnesota, 12 with the DNR, Molly MacGregor is retiring

 

Brief summary of her career

Molly started her career with the DNR in June 2012 as the Northwest Regional Planner in Bemidji. A year later, she left to become the Continuous Improvement Coordinator in St Paul. In 2014, Molly moved on to become the St Louis River Restoration Supervisor in Duluth and in June 2017, she took her last position as the Northeast Regional Planner in Grand Rapids.

In her current capacity as Northeast Regional Planner, Molly has been part of:

  • New Forestry-Wildlife area building at Cloquet
  • Riverlands State Forest (Minnesota Power lands acquired by DNR in the 1990s transferred to Forestry)  
  • Community Engagement for Willow River Dam Removal
  • Planner for the Tribal Relations Work Team which redrafted and obtained signatures approving Op Order 129: Tribal Consultation

Plans for the future

Molly has some grand adventures planned including:

  • Serving on the Grand Rapids City Council and working on a climate action plan for the city
  • Volunteering as a precipitation monitor and plant identification monitor for the DNR
  • Removing dams on the upper Mississippi River
  • Reading all the books she has
  • Helping her granddaughters grow up with a sense of humor!
