Air Quality Alert Issued Statewide

Burning Permits will not be activated Friday or Saturday in Minnesota.

Due to wildfire smoke from Canada, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued a statewide air quality alert from 8 a.m. Friday, July 14 at 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, July 15. This alert may be extended locally if conditions do not improve.

To reduce additional air pollutants, burning permits will not be issued or activated during Air Quality Alerts and campfires are highly discouraged.

For up-to-date information on fire danger and burning restrictions visit: www.mndnr.gov/burnrestrictions.

The air quality is expected to reach the orange air quality index. This level is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups.
