Good afternoon,

It was an eventful first week of the 2023 legislative session as members were sworn in and committees met for the first time. The new Minnesota Legislature includes many freshman legislators and new committee chairs. Committees are busy organizing and discussing priorities but expect more bill introductions in the coming weeks.

A full list of House committees can be found here.

A full list of Senate committees can be found here.

This Week:

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 - The House Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee held their first meeting. During the meeting HF50, the 2022 DNR Lands Bill, was heard and amended to bring the bill in to the shape the bill author desired. DNR Lands and Minerals Attorney, Lorie Klein, walked through the bill and provided testimony on the DNR provisions found in the bill. The Bill was passed as amended and sent to the House Ways and Means Committee.

Next Week:

Tuesday, January 10th, 3:00 PM - Joint Meeting of the Senate Committee on Environment, Climate, and Legacy and the House Committee on Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy
