Fall BOW Workshop

Women's Fall BOW Workshop

September 9 - 11, Eagle Bluff ELC Lanesboro,  fee $195. Registration opens mid-June at www.mndnr.gov/education/bow.

Don't miss our first fall workshop since 2019! BOW's weekend workshops are the best place for women (and girls age 14 and up) to learn outdoor skills.

This year's workshop focuses on the health benefits of being outdoors. The evening speaker is State Park Naturalist Sara Holger, a certified forest bathing instructor. Sara will speak on the health benefits of being in nature. Sara will also lead three forest-bathing classes during the weekend.

Simone Schara will also be at the workshop teaching how to pheasant hunt and train dogs class. Additional classes include how to grow shitake mushrooms, fly-fishing, archery, rifle and shotgun shooting, nature/birding hikes, Mystery Cave tours, and more. Fee includes two nights lodging, all meals Friday dinner through Sunday lunch, evening programs, equipment, instruction in three classes, campfires and fun!.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn new skills in a supportive environment, meet new friends and to experience the health benefits of being in the outdoors. Three Rivers Park District Classes

Family Fishing, Saturday, June 4, 9 - 11 a.m., Cedar Lake Farm Regional Park, New Prague, fee $10  register by calling Three Rivers Parks at 763-559-6700.

Learn about species of fish, preparing equipment, bait, and handling of fish once they are caught. Equipment and Catch & Release fishing license provided for the program only. Registration required by 2 days prior. All ages. Participants under 12 years old must be accompanied by a registered adult.

Family Archery, Saturday, June 4, 1 - 3 p.m., Cedar Lake Farm Regional Park, New Prague, fee $10, register by calling Three Rivers Parks at 763-559-6700.

Explore the basics of archery and elements of safety. Practice fundamental skills, participate in challenges, and play fun games. Equipment provided. Registration required by 2 days prior. Ages 8+. Participants under 12 years old must be accompanied by a registered adult.

These webinars are part of the Minnesota Outdoor Skills and Stewardship Series that aims to give participants quick, relevant information on upcoming seasons and events, and skills to help enjoy the outdoors.

Becoming an Outdoors Woman Program (BOW)

The BOW program provides hunting, fishing, and non-consumptive outdoor skills classes to women in a safe and supportive environment. BOW works cooperatively with DNR staff, volunteers and outside agencies to provide opportunities for women to learn skills. BOW is guided by a volunteer steering committee.
