Please join me in Austin for the ninth annual Minnesota Governor’s Pheasant Hunting Opener on Friday and Saturday, October 11-12, 2019.

I am excited to participate in my first Governor’s Pheasant Hunting Opener as Governor. This year’s event will showcase the remarkable pheasant hunting opportunities in the Austin area. The grasslands and farm fields of southern Minnesota provide plentiful habitat for pheasants that draw hunters to this area every year.

The Governor’s Pheasant Opener has become a special Minnesota tradition. The annual event honors and promotes Minnesota’s long-standing pheasant hunting tradition. Every fall brings a season of anticipation, excitement and companionship for hunters in our state. Just as in Austin, communities all across our state welcome those who carry on this fine tradition of pheasant hunting.

I look forward to enjoying a warm reception from our hosts in Austin this fall, and I invite you to join me for a memorable Pheasant Hunting Opener highlighting Minnesota’s hunting and tourism opportunities.
