New ways to build awareness of member eligibility changes

The federal Medicaid partner toolkit has been updated with a new suite of materials to help make Minnesotans aware of coming modifications to member eligibility requirements:

• Printable 8.5x11 handout (PDF)
• Printable 5x7 flyer (PDF)
• Digital slide for screens (PNG)

Each asset is designed with a clear and simple call to action and a QR code driving users to the federal changes homepage.

Wanted: Input on DHS Community-Based Services Manual

The department's Disability Services Division seeks feedback from providers about the Community-Based Services Manual (CBSM). Please note that DHS maintains the MHCP Provider Manual for our provider audiences. We would like to know from providers who may also use the CBSM:

• What information do you refer to this manual for?
• What are the pain points of using it?
• Thoughts on ideal functionality.

An in-person feedback session is scheduled for Friday, Sep. 25, 2 – 3:30 p.m. If you use the CBSM frequently and are willing to share your thoughts, email project lead Lea Bittner-Eddy at lea.bittner-eddy@state.mn.us to be included. A survey to gather information from providers may be available in the future.

New focus on provider enrollment backlog

DHS acknowledges the backlog of new provider enrollment applications and changes and continues to staff up to address this backlog while balancing the appeals from MN Revalidate 2026. DHS may prioritize provider applications from enrolled providers seeking escalated requests if these applications address member care in residential facilities, to ensure continuity of care. If you wish to request an escalation of your provider enrollment application in these circumstances, please submit a request for expedited processing to our Provider Resource Center.

Invitation to join the Health Services Advisory Council

The department invites eligible licensed physician specialists to apply for an opening on the Health Services Advisory Council.

Made up of physicians, mental health professionals, other health care providers, and consumer representatives, the council provides leadership in designing public health care benefit and coverage policies for Minnesota. A particular focus is evidence-based coverage policy, in which decisions about public health services are based on the best available research on their effectiveness.

New eList for direct care professionals

A new email distribution list specifically aimed at direct care professionals is now available. Topics that will be covered will include:

• Invitations to events and webinars
• FAQs on service or policy changes

If you are a provider or associated medical biller who will be impacted by the upcoming changes in OB coding that take effect Jan. 1, 2027, we want to hear from you. Consider answering a simple survey to help us learn more about current needs, potential challenges, and opportunities to support billing efforts during the transition.
