Provider roundtables resuming monthly schedule

July 1, 2026

Starting in July, the Minnesota Department of Human Services is transitioning from the weekly provider roundtable (focused on Minnesota Revalidate 2026 and its appeal process) back to the original monthly schedule. The next scheduled roundtable will occur on July 16, and focus on a broad range of Medicaid-related topics impacting providers, associations, community groups and advocates.

We made this decision after thoughtful consideration informed by provider feedback, a critical review of the effectiveness of the roundtable forum to meet current needs, and overarching goals of Minnesota’s program integrity efforts to fight fraud, waste and abuse. The demand for assistance was not being met (and was not designed to do so) in these weekly roundtables, and resulted in increased provider frustration.

DHS remains committed to assisting each provider with their revalidation and/or appeal. We are best positioned to assist providers when we receive and acknowledge your appeal, and can reach out to you to offer any needed clarification regarding the details outlined in your most recent RFMI letter. Focused provider support allows for a more efficient, equitable and confidential process that is not feasible during weekly provider roundtables.

As we continue to process your revalidations and appeals, please review the following:

  • If you received a termination notice from DHS and intend to continue providing services, but have not yet appealed, APPEAL NOW. Do not wait. Refer to this visual step-by-step guide to learn how to submit your appeal.

  • If you already submitted an appeal accompanied by all required and completed documentation, know that we are processing appeals as quickly as possible and in the order they are received. We will contact you with next steps when we get to your appeal. Most likely, you will continue to receive DHS payments for claims you submit during this time.

  • Program integrity standards are stringent. Please ensure that every aspect of submitted documentation is complete, accurate and up-to-date.

  • Review your latest Request for More Information (RFMI) notice closely for specifics on outstanding documentation we still need from you (if applicable). Every time you submit additional information for an appeal, the 30-day review timeframe begins again. Please continue to work with us so we can complete your revalidation.

  • Watch for acknowledgement of your appeal from DHS. Most providers submitting claims for high-risk Medicaid services who receive notices of disenrollment (termination) due to a failed or incomplete revalidation will have their billing suspension lifted when they appeal. DHS is not lifting payment suspensions for providers currently subject to a payment suspension for other enrollment-related requirements, or for providers with an active payment withhold imposed by the DHS Program Integrity Oversight Division.

  • If it has been more than 30 days since you submitted your appeal and you have not heard from us via your MN–ITS Mailbox, email, USPS, or MPSE notes, use the Provider Resource Center contact form to reach out to DHS so we can check the status of your appeal. The form is available online 24/7.

Providers who have submitted a complete appeal and continue to work with DHS to resolve any outstanding issues will most likely remain active and able to bill for services. Please return our calls and emails when we reach out to assist you with your revalidation. DHS wants to continue to partner with you to support continuity of care.

To be added to the regular monthly roundtable, email the roundtable inbox with name, email address and organization. As a reminder, the purpose of the roundtables is to share and discuss changes in MHCP policies and procedures, and any other developments that impact enrolled providers, community groups, provider associations and advocates.

As always, thank you for your partnership and commitment to the health and well-being of Minnesotans.
