A weekly roundup of news, updates and reminders

June 29, 2026

Our website has a new look!

We are in the process of rolling out a new website for the Minnesota Department of Human Services, with a simpler layout, easier navigation and search, and a much more mobile-friendly design than before. The site contains a massive amount of information, so the upgrade process has created a few snags. We are debugging as quickly as we can. Thank you for your patience!

Online payment processing fees go into effect July 1

Effective July 1, 2026, a processing fee will be charged for online payments. The fees differ slightly depending on whether a credit/debit card or ACH service is used. Read the June 23, 2026, provider news message for details.

Adaptive transportation services policy updated

The adaptive transportation services policy has been revised to reflect the 2023 Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services school-based claiming guide. All policy updates go into effect July 1, 2026. Learn more in the provider news message posted June 23, 2026.

New HCBS provider signature policy for support plans

The department updated the member support plan signature policy and resources for Home and Community-Based Services. These changes are effective August 1, 2026. Learn more in the provider news message posted June 24, 2026.

High call volume still slowing response time at PRC

Due to the high volume of inquiries about revalidation, callers to the Provider Resource Center (PRC) will likely experience longer than usual wait times. Consider using the online contact form to submit your question.

Stay informed

Don't forget to sign up for email updates to get news from the department delivered straight to your inbox.

We send information on a variety of health care topics — including this newsletter — that you choose.

And remember to check these other provider channels for key policy updates, changes and assistance as well:

Appeals process update

Providers who submitted an appeal have had their billing reinstated unless they have an active payment withhold or a previous payment suspension related to other enrollment issues, such as missing SEIU reporting or a change in ownership. If you believe you were missed, contact the Provider Resource Center.

If it has been more than 30 days since submitting an appeal and you have not received confirmation that your appeal was received — through MN–ITS, email, USPS, or MPSE notes — contact the Provider Resource Center or email the appeals inbox for a status update.

Please note that while we are processing appeals as quickly as possible, each time additional information is submitted for an appeal, the 30-day review timeframe begins again.  Review your documents and submissions carefully before submitting them.

Provider FAQs

For answers to common questions about revalidation, appeals, and much more, make sure to check out the online provider-specific FAQs. The page is updated regularly with new content, informed by the questions we are getting most often from providers.

Questions about LoginMN

There is now a section in the provider FAQs dedicated to LoginMN, the new secure statewide sign-on system that will be used to access all Minnesota programs and services.

For even more information about the new system, you can download MN-ITS move to LoginMN FAQs (PDF) and watch Accessing MN–ITS through LoginMN (video, 4 min).

Upcoming changes to obstetrics services coding

Currently, providers can bill obstetric services globally or by component. However, on Jan. 1, 2027, the American Medical Association is eliminating the global CPT codes.

Providers have access to these codes until Dec. 31, 2026. Review these resources for more information:

In August the department will host open office hours to offer assistance and answer providers' questions. Register today!
