This message has been sent to Minnesota family child care license holders about the launch of family child care licensing in the Provider Hub.
The State of Minnesota continues to make progress on preparing family child care licensing in the Provider Hub. We’re committed to sharing information with you as it’s available.
Last fall, we announced a phased, regional launch order. This spring, we’re sharing a timeline update.
The Minnesota Legislature is currently in the middle of the 2026 legislative session.
Before launching family child care licensing in the Provider Hub, we need to understand what, if any, changes the legislature will make to family child care licensing standards. Any changes would likely need to be incorporated into the Provider Hub.
So, we will not make a decision on when to launch family child care licensing in the Provider Hub before the end of the 2026 legislative session.
Updates will be provided after the legislature has concluded and we can assess the impact of any changes.
You can review the previous Provider Hub update emailed Nov. 10.
The Provider Hub is an online tool for providers to apply for and manage social service licenses, funding opportunities and participation in other government programs.
Today, licensed and certified child care centers use the Provider Hub for:
-
Child care center licensing/certification
-
Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) provider registration management
-
Great Start Compensation Support Payment Program participation
- Enrollment and attendance
In August 2025, family child care providers got access to the Provider Hub to manage their Child Care Assistance Program registration.
Learn more about the online tool on the Provider Hub webpage.
If you have feedback or questions, email the Provider Hub team at providerhub@state.mn.us.
Thank you for all your work caring for children and their families across Minnesota!
