Provider and Agency Hub Update

March 27, 2026

This message has been sent to family child care county licensors and supervisors regarding the launch of family child care licensing in the Provider Hub and Agency Hub.

The State of Minnesota continues to make progress on family child care licensing functionality in the Provider Hub and Agency Hub. We’re committed to sharing information as it’s available.

Last fall we announced a phased, regional launch order. In this spring update, we’re providing a timeline update.

No Launch Date Decided during 2026 Legislative Session

The Minnesota Legislature is currently in the middle of the 2026 legislative session. Before launching family child care licensing in the Provider Hub and Agency Hub, the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) needs to understand what, if any, changes the legislature will make to family child care licensing standards. Any changes would likely need to be incorporated into the Provider/Agency Hub.

Therefore, no decision on when to launch family child care licensing in these online tools will be made before the end of the 2026 legislative session.

Updates will be provided after the legislature has concluded and DCYF leadership can assess the impact of any changes.

This resource was first shared with county licensing staff Nov. 6.

Family child care providers will receive this update at the email address associated with their license.

We plan to send the English version early next week. Spanish, Somali and Hmong versions are in progress.
