Provider and Agency Hub Update

July 7, 2025

This message has been sent to all family child care county licensors and supervisors regarding the launch of family child care licensing in the Provider and Agency Hub.

The State of Minnesota continues to make progress on building family child care (FCC) licensing functionality in the Provider and Agency Hub. As we do so, we're making a strategic adjustment to our launch timeline.

We previously communicated a tentative launch timeframe of summer 2025. To best support a successful rollout to you and family child care providers, we’re currently determining a revised launch timeline.

We understand changing timeframes may cause stress and frustration. We appreciate your patience. Here's the information we do have:

Launch Information

Family child care licensing will launch in the Provider and Agency Hub using a phased, regional approach.

Pilot

First, we'll pilot family child care licensing in the Provider and Agency Hub with the following counties, all of which partner with Sourcewell for family child care licensing: Becker, Cass, Crow Wing, Douglas, Hubbard, Morrison, Stevens, Todd and Wadena.

Family child care providers and licensing staff in these counties will be notified of the pilot launch date at least 60 days before the pilot begins. The pilot will run for one month.

Regional launch

Following the pilot, the Provider and Agency Hub will go live by region. We’re actively determining the regional launch order and will communicate the order once it’s finalized.

County licensing staff and providers will be notified of their regional launch timeline well in advance.

We will offer an in-person support event for providers in each region around the time of their regional launch. More information about these events will be shared as details are finalized.

Agency Hub training will be provided to county licensing staff in preparation for your regional launch.

Provider Communication

Family child care providers will receive this update at the email address associated with their license. We plan to send the English version of this email early this week. Hmong, Spanish and Somali versions are in progress.
