ASAM Resources webpage & readiness tools now available for Minnesota substance use disorder providers

The Department of Human Services (DHS) has created a new American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Resources webpage for Minnesota substance use disorder providers. The webpage has been created to support education and knowledge to align current practices with “ASAM Criteria, 3rd Edition,” as well as provide materials and education for “ASAM Criteria, 4th Edition,” in preparation for the future. The webpage consists of:

  • Training and technical assistance

  • Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

  • Relevant links to utilization management, statutes and ASAM materials

  • Tools and assessments

There are two ASAM readiness tools available on this webpage, specifically designed for Minnesota substance use disorder providers. The tools are for providers to self-assess the alignment of their current addiction treatment programs and services with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) levels of care.

DHS is dedicated to supporting providers in the ongoing implementation of ASAM criteria.

Please bookmark this webpage and utilize it as a helpful resource for all things ASAM.
