Changes in DAANES start Feb. 1, 2025


The Department of Human Services announces upcoming changes in DAANES starting Feb. 1, 2025.

While the system itself remains the same, admission and discharge records will now reflect updated ASAM-aligned terminology for Levels of Care.

Previous Terminology:

New ASAM-Aligned Terminology:

Current Chemical Dependency Treatment

Level of Care

Hospital-Based Inpatient

Hospital Inpatient

Short-Term Residential less than 30 days planned

Residential – ASAM 3.3 or 3.5

Long-Term Residential more than 30 days planned

Residential – ASAM 3.1

Non-Residential

Non-residential – ASAM 1.0, 2.1 or 2.5

Methadone Clinic

Methadone – ASAM 1.0 or 2.1

 

Additionally, beginning February 1, 2025, users will be able to copy and paste the PMI directly into the Service Initiation record.
