DHS seeking applicants for Mental Health Supervision grants

The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS), through its Behavioral Health Division, is seeking proposals from qualified responders to provide supervision to interns and clinical trainees who are working toward becoming mental health professionals, to subsidize the costs of licensing applications and examination fees for clinical trainees and/or to fund training for workers to become supervisors.

This request for proposals (RFP) will help meet the need for funding to support the development of Minnesota’s mental health workforce, resulting in more mental health professionals to serve within the state’s mental health care continuum.

Responders may submit one proposal for one or both of the following options:

  • Option one: Increase the number of Mental Health Professionals by supporting clinical trainees in becoming licensed by providing clinical supervision and subsidizing licensure-related costs.
  • Option two: Increase the number of mental health clinical supervisors by providing a weekend training program for Mental Health Professionals to become clinical supervisors.

For questions or more information, email Kitra Nelson at kitra.nelson@state.mn.us with the subject line, “Mental Health Supervision Grant question--Attention: Kitra Nelson.”

To be considered, the Proposal must be submitted electronically by Aug. 30, 2024, by 4 p.m. Central Time. The RFP must be emailed to Kitra Nelson at kitra.nelson@state.mn.us with the subject line, “Mental Health Supervision Grant Proposal--Attention: Kitra Nelson.” Proposals submitted any other way will not be accepted.
