Age-Friendly Minnesota has created a draft Blueprint for Aging in Minnesota.
The Blueprint for Aging is a plan to make sure all our state’s residents are included and valued, and have equal opportunities to thrive in the future. As the number of older Minnesotans grows, the Blueprint will guide us to reimagine our communities as more age-inclusive places to live.
Your input will ensure the needs of older Minnesotans who have hearing loss, or identify themselves as deaf, deafblind, hard of hearing, or late-deafened are included in the plan.
You are invited to review the draft Blueprint and explore the four domains:
- Connected Communities
- Emergency Preparedness, Individual Rights, and Safety
- Optimized Health and Longevity
- Economic Security and Vitality
After you've reviewed the draft Blueprint, Age-Friendly Minnesota invites you to share your thoughts and feedback by July 31, 2024. Or, if you prefer, you may schedule a 15 minute virtual meeting with Natalie to share your feedback. This meeting can be in American Sign Language and/or spoken with captions. If you wish to schedule a meeting, please email Natalie.
Public comments will close on July 31, 2024. Afterwards, the Blueprint will undergo final revisions. The final Blueprint will be released in December 2024. The collective ingenuity, knowledge and life experience of all Minnesotans will go into implementing the Blueprint in 2025-2035.
