Event to address need for treatment professionals to serve Minnesota’s rural communities


The Department of Humans services will be co-sponsoring a day-long event entitled, The Rural SUD Workforce: Recruit, Retain, Sustain. This event unites behavioral healthcare professionals, educators, students and policymakers to explore recruiting and retaining desperately needed treatment professionals to serve Minnesota’s rural communities. Interested participants can register online.

The event will take place on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Minnesota State University, Mankato Centennial Student Union, located at 620 West S Road, Mankato, MN 56001.

Cost is $10 for students, $30 for NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC) members and $60 for non-NAADAC members. Featured keynote speakers are Israil Ali from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and Mathew Roosa from NIATx.
