Enhancing Supervisor Skills: Upcoming DHS Workshop on MAP Training for Mental Health Practitioners


The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) Behavioral Health Division, in collaboration with PracticeWise, is pleased to announce an interactive half-day workshop aimed at supervisors who are interested in further training their staff in the Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP) System. This workshop will support supervisors in effectively incorporating MAP principles into their supervisory roles and enhancing the quality of youth treatment services across Minnesota. 

The workshop is specially tailored for supervisors with some MAP training and who are in the behavioral health field. Participants do not need to be credentialed MAP agency supervisors but should hold a supervisory position.

This interactive workshop will cover: 

  • Relevant Definitions: Understand key terms such as “practitioner” and “skills” with a focus on their training implications
  • MAP Process Guides: Learn how these guides can assist in selecting and adapting “skills” practice guides
  • Sample Training Plan: Walk through a sample training plan and accompanying slides tailored for mental health practitioners
  • Rehearsal Activities: Collaborate with fellow supervisors to create engaging rehearsal activities for supervisees
  • Credentialing Pathways: Discover how mental health practitioners can meet the criteria to obtain a MAP Therapist credential

CE Credits: CE credit is available for this training. Practicewise, LLC is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. PracticeWise, LLC maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
