This email contains important information about accessing new features in the Provider Hub system.
The Great Start Compensation Support Payment Program is a nation-leading program designed to support Minnesota’s child care industry through increases in compensation and benefits for early childhood educators.
A key component of the Great Start Compensation monthly application is the submission of enrollment and attendance records as required by Minnesota Statute, chapter 119B.27. Electronic enrollment and attendance functionality is being developed in the Provider Hub to ensure providers are easily able to collect and submit this data with the monthly application in the future.
Programs applying for Great Start Compensation funding will not be required to submit detailed enrollment and attendance data until all providers can do so in the Provider Hub. The requirement to provide more detailed enrollment and attendance data will be forthcoming, and we will communicate that with you early and often.
The current application you complete today with the same questions will move to the Provider Hub. You will continue to be asked for high-level information on enrollment and attendance.
-
Application Period: Starting June 2024, the application period will open the 10th of each month and close the 23rd for ALL providers applying for Great Start Compensation Support Payment Program funding.
-
Application Moving to the Provider Hub in July 2024: Starting July 2024, all child care centers licensed or certified by the state will apply for Great Start Compensation funding by completing their application in the Provider Hub.
The Provider Hub Enrollment & Attendance feature continues to be developed to enable providers with tools to provide electronic enrollment and attendance records in a more flexible and convenient way. As these features are developed, we will have opportunities for child care centers licensed and certified by the state to begin to utilize these features before detailed electronic enrollment and daily attendance data are made a requirement on your Great Start Compensation application.
-
In July 2024, licensed and certified child care centers currently utilizing the Provider Hub will have access to this optional feature in the Provider Hub.
Training will be provided to help you complete the Great Start Compensation Application and use the optional Enrollment & Attendance feature in the Provider Hub. Training will include knowledge articles, step-by-step instructions, and videos. You will be able to access training materials on-demand, at your convenience, during the first part of June, well in advance of the go-live date in July 2024.
Frequently Ask Questions will be updated based on feedback and information that will be helpful for you to know on the website.
