“ASAM Criteria, 4th Edition” eBook distribution continues with increased partner eligibility, new deadline

The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) Behavioral Health Division continues to coordinate distribution of complimentary redemption codes for the “ASAM Criteria, 4th Edition” eBook to each Tribal, 245G and 245F licensed program in the state, including eligible border state programs. Other partners are now also eligible to receive an eBook, including LADCs, counties and hospitals among others.

Interested individuals should email the 1115 mailbox at 1115demonstration.dhs@state.mn.us by May 31, 2024, to determine eligibility and receive registration information.

DHS has begun working on proposed legislative changes related to “ASAM Criteria, 4th Edition.” Adoption of any changes will be subject to state legislative and federal state plan approvals, and timelines will be based on those approvals. “ASAM Criteria, 3rd Edition” will remain the standard of practice until further notice.

DHS also has plans to distribute one copy of the “ASAM Criteria, 4th Edition” textbook to eligible programs soon.
