This message is for licensed family child care providers regarding the launch of the Provider Hub later this year.
Happy New Year, family child care providers! 2024 will be a busy year with many changes and improvements to child care licensing processes. As you know, the biggest change will be the launch of the new Provider Hub online platform that will replace the current paper processes for your license.
We are constantly learning and adapting our approach to designing and communicating about the Provider Hub as we get feedback from providers and licensors. We promise to keep you up to date with consistent emails like this one to make sure you have the latest updates and information as we get closer to the launch of the Hub!
Read more below for other ways you can learn more about the Hub.
In November and December, the Provider Hub product team hosted informational sessions to help family child care providers learn more about the Provider Hub. Thank you to those who took the time to join and ask questions!
A Q&A document is available with a summary of the questions and answers we heard from providers during the November and December sessions for anyone who was not able to attend or who would like to review the information again.
We heard from providers that hosting a live call-in session at a particular time each month is not the most convenient way to learn more information for providers who are not comfortable accessing webinars or online content. Instead of continuing to ask everyone to call into a meeting at a particular time to hear the same basic information about the Provider Hub, we are adapting!
One way we will work to provide updates in a more convenient way is to refresh our website. We will be working in the coming weeks to have an improved web page structure and new content to ensure current information is always readily accessible.
For providers who may not have consistent access to email or who are not comfortable with technology, we are offering additional ways to learn more about the Provider Hub and to access resources.
We are currently working on establishing a phone number that any family child care provider can call to learn basic information about the Provider Hub and how to find resources for learning about or accessing technology.
Callers will pick from different options to hear pre-recorded information about the Hub or be directed to other resources. The recordings will be offered in English, Spanish, Hmong, and Somali. We will share more when this phone line is up and running!
Family child care providers do not have access to the Provider Hub until spring of 2024. The Provider Hub is currently live for certified and licensed center child care providers, and has a public facing log in page that allows new applicants for these license types to create an account and begin a license application. Family child care providers or potential applicants who self-register in the Provider Hub will not be able to see or access any information.
Upon the implementation of the Provider Hub for family child care, accounts will be created for all existing providers and an activation link will be sent to access your license information.
