The SSIS Help Desk has received several tickets related to users not receiving password reset emails. It is suspected this might be due to email rule filtering. Sometimes emails sent from SSIS with password reset information may appear as SPAM to the agency email system. Users are encouraged to check their spam or junk folders before contacting the Help Desk. If the email is there, it should be added to a safe senders list (whitelist). The current workaround is to change the user’s email address to the admin person’s email and check if the email is received. If so, something needs to be changed with the worker’s email. If the email is not received by the admin person, agency IT staff may want to review the local email system for blocked emails to the individual’s email box. If it is not found by IT, it could be an issue with the state system. In any case, it is important to notify the SSIS Help Desk so other options can be explored to prevent the issue from recurring.
Many areas in SSIS allow for use of the multi-select function (press Ctrl + click).
Examples:
- Add several participants to an intake simultaneously from a search using the multi-select function. Highlight multiple participants then click the Select button. This is helpful when searching persons by last name.
- Staff managing the Destruction list in Administration can use the multi-select function to extend a destruction date for multiple specific Workgroups listed.
- Inactivate service arrangements at year-end. From the Service Arrangement search use the multi-select function to select multiple Service Arrangements and set the status to inactive.
There are many other areas where this function can be useful – check it out!
User Settings, User Grid Settings, and User Spelling Settings can be adjusted in SSIS to display items in a certain way. It is recommended that workers back up user settings prior to each new release to ensure they are not lost. If settings are not saved, SSIS will revert to default settings. Backing up settings is easy and takes a few minutes. Instructions for the process can be found here.
