Workers have the option of attaching documents in SSIS to send to DHS Permanency. To ensure the documents are associated with the child/youth, workers need to check the status at DHS on the Child Ward or Kinship folder is ‘Active at DHS’ before sending in SSIS. For more information on attaching documents in SSIS to send to DHS see the Sending Attached Documents to DHS job aid under Adoption- County and Tribal on SSIS Worker Documentation (state.mn.us).
The SSIS Resource page has eLearning modules on Adult Protection, Fiscal, and Permanency available for mentors and county/tribal agency workers. Visit the SSIS Resource page often for new eLearning modules. In addition to the modules available on the SSIS Resource page, SSIS Essentials modules are available via TrainLink.
The SSIS User Support unit is excited to announce new changes to SSIS APS Essentials 104A (Intakes) and 104B (Assessments) effective today.
Both courses now include audio on each page that can be started or paused by learners. The audio is not required, but instead provides the option for learners to listen to the information or receive audio guidance through interactive walkthrough activities. Because of current default settings in most web browsers, audio does not start automatically, so learners will need to manually start audio each time.
Additionally, learners will have the opportunity to complete an evaluation after finishing each course. Upon exiting the course, the evaluation will open in a new browser tab. The evaluation will assist in providing improvements in existing courses as well as direction when creating new courses. Evaluations are optional, and all answers are confidential.
The link to the evaluation will also be sent to staff who have previously completed the modules prior to the updates.
Questions or issues with the SSIS APS Essentials courses, or any eLearning courses available on TrainLink or CountyLink, can be submitted to ssistraining.dhs@state.mn.us.
Registration is now open for the remainder of this summer’s coffee talks. Registration is required for each session and will remain open until the webinar begins. Presentation recordings and materials will be posted to the Minnesota Child Welfare Training Academy website seven to ten business days following each event.
