Children’s mental health training for parents and caregivers offered on March 22

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is holding a virtual training for parents and caregivers on children’s mental health from 5 to 6:15 p.m. CST on Wednesday, Mar. 22.

The training aims to provide parents and caregivers with the information and resources to recognize, manage and support their children’s mental health needs. We know that parents and caregivers play a vital role and want to provide you all with the tools and skills needed to support your children.

ACF and SAMHSA are engaged in several efforts to improve behavioral health (mental health and substance use) for children, youth and families. HHS is committed to continuously engage with families and communities to provide timely and relevant information that meets their needs. They’ve engaged and learned from several parents and caregivers about the kind of behavioral health resources that would be helpful for them and their peers and have used the shared expertise and suggestions to inform the development of this webinar training.
