Update to adult mental health targeted case management level of care assessment requirements

Effective immediately, adult mental health targeted case managers (AMH TCM) are no longer required to complete any level of care assessment tool with persons served. Previously, those who provide AMH TCM services were required to complete a LOCUS (Level of Care Utilization System). DHS is not issuing a replacement level of care assessment for AMH TCM.

This change is being implemented in order to clarify case management roles and responsibilities.

For further information about these changes, review the published Frequently Asked Questions document. The FAQ document can be found on this DHS webpage: Adult Mental Health / Minnesota Department of Human Services (mn.gov) under the heading “Help with” and entitled “Necessity of Care Service Recommendation/Referral FAQs.”
