Age-Friendly Minnesota Council technical assistance provider grants

The Age-Friendly Minnesota (AFMN) Council, in cooperation with the MN Department of Human Services, will release Technical Assistance Provider Grants (followed by Community Grants) by mid-August, to help communities work on age-friendly projects and become better places for all Minnesotans to grow older.

The AFMN Council has made diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) the foundation of Age-Friendly Minnesota, and is committed to ensuring that the work of the Council, including the Grants Program, promotes equity and reduces disparities. The Council hopes that a wide range of applicants will participate in the Grants Program, and is offering Technical Assistance Provider Grants to help applicants with limited experience or capacity in applying for funding and administering grant-funded projects.

More information about the AFMN Council and upcoming grant opportunities, can be found on the Age-Friendly Minnesota Council’s website.

988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline

In July 2022, the United States transitioned to using the 988-dialing code for suicide and crisis support. Anyone can dial or text 988 to reach crisis support or use an online chat feature to connect with crisis support. 988 serves as a universal entry point. You can connect to 988 wherever you live and can reach a trained crisis specialist who can help anytime, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. For more information about 988 in Minnesota, visit the Minnesota Department of Health’s 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline webpage.
