Adult Protection Services (APS) has new intake assessment responses decided by county agencies as part of the initial disposition screening process. The APS response for adults referred to APS by the Minnesota Adult Abuse Reporting Center (MAARC) as vulnerable and suspected of experiencing maltreatment decided will be either “Assessment with No Determination” or “Assessment with Determination” based on policy. When the county report action is accepted for investigation, agencies document if initial disposition response as either accepted for with determination, or with no determination and the policy basis.
When the assessment workgroup is closed for “Assessment with No Determination”, the final determination entered is “No Determination-investigation not possible”. There are no changes in final determination when the adult accepted for APS is accepted for Assessment with Determination. Service interventions are entered for both responses.
The ‘Time to Initial Contact’ report located in SSIS>General reports is not yet updated with the exemption activity or new Child Maltreatment Report exemption field. In lieu of being able to use that report to review timeliness errors and potential missed exemption entries, DHS Research staff have updated the Tableau ‘Timeliness’ report to be used for this purpose. Agencies should access this link to use, find, review, and enter missed exemptions dated 7/1/21-2/23/22. The CW timeline exemption activity is scheduled to be inactivated in V22.3 making it unavailable for use in late entries as of that release. SSIS Mentors should contact the SSIS Help Desk if assistance is needed.
SSIS mentors are the main point of contact for agency users when guidance is needed with SSIS related issues. Mentors also act as the liaison between agency users and DHS. Mentors can assist with resetting passwords and reopening closed work groups. When additional assistance with SSIS is needed, mentors, coordinators and agency supervisors should contact the SSIS Help Desk. Please note the SSIS Help Desk is limited to taking calls and emails from SSIS mentors, coordinators and agency supervisors. All others will be referred back to their agency mentors and coordinators for assistance.
SSIS Business Operations and Training would like to extend special thanks to Dakota and Scott Counties for piloting Statewide Release v22.3 July 27 through August 23, 2022. Statewide Release v 22.3 is scheduled for August 24, 2022 and will include enhancements to Editor as well as Family First claiming.
Additional release information can be found on the SSIS Resource page. If interested in participating as a pilot agency for v22.4 or another upcoming release, please contact the SSIS Help Desk.
It is recommended that SSIS user settings be backed up and restored prior to each new statewide release to ensure they are not lost. This is an easy process and only takes a few minutes. Instructions for Backing up settings in SSIS can be found here.
