On March 24, 2022, Governor Walz signed a bill retroactive to September 1, 2021, allowing reinstatement and extension of some COVID-19 program waivers and modifications to remain in effect until June 30, 2022. This includes certain monthly foster care visits by children’s caseworkers. Refer to Bulletin 22-68-04 Waiver for videoconferencing of monthly caseworker visits for more information and a reminder on how these should be recorded in SSIS.
DHS bulletins are official communication to inform county and tribal staff, as well as other DHS business partners, about program changes and required actions by workers and partner agencies. Use the links below to view current bulletins.
According to DHS policy, bulletins more than two years old that are not reissued are considered obsolete. Therefore, bulletins more than two years old are not available on the DHS website.
A workaround has been created to resolve an existing defect when copying Out of Home Placement Plans (OHPP) in SSIS. The defect appears when users type the Current School or Current Grade in Education Detail of the OHPP. This section should autofill from the Education folder in the Person node but also has the option to be typed in.
If experiencing trouble when copying an OHPP, check the Education detail section of the OHPP. If something has been typed in the Current School or Current Grade in the document, delete it, then enter the education information in the Education folder under the Person node. Remember to refresh/redisplay the set up screen in the OHPP as well as the person/child (two green circle arrows) in the OHPP set up screen. This should allow users to copy the OHPP. Contact the SSIS Help desk if further assistance is needed.
Thank you for providing feedback regarding Out of Home Placement Plans (OHPP). SSIS Business Operations is working with Policy to determine the next steps in improving functionality. A couple documents have been added to the SSIS Worker Documentation page to help workers when completing the OHPP. Under Service Plans and Reviews, workers will find a completed OHPP Template Sample-Safety and Permanency as well as an OHPP Template Tutorial Guide. Questions or concerns regarding OHPP should be directed to the SSIS Help desk
Prior to starting an OHPP, always have accurate information available and ensure the Education, Diagnosis/Conditions/Substance, and Health/Insurance folders are filled out and up to date in SSIS. This will save time and prevent copying issues when creating the OHPP.
SSIS users are invited to register for upcoming coffee talk webinars. Registration is required for each session and will close one hour prior to the event. Questions are appreciated in advance and should be directed to the SSIS Help Desk.
Webinars will be recorded and posted to the Minnesota Child Welfare Training Academy (MNCWTA) website following each event.
