Video transcript:
Vaccinations have helped to reduce the number of cases and the number of people hospitalized, but we still have a lot to learn about COVID-19. To help communicate timely and accessible information about COVID-19 in American Sign Language (ASL), the Minnesota Department of Health has awarded a grant to Communication Service for the Deaf (CSD) to provide a COVID hotline in American Sign Language (ASL).
The hotline is staffed by deaf representatives who can explain the information available and direct you to appropriate resources. They are not doctors or nurses, and cannot advise you on treatment.
There are two ways to connect to the ASL COVID-19 Hotline:
- You can connect through CSD's dedicated COVID-19 Hotline website (click on ASL Now), or
- You can call 651-504-2088 from your videophone.
Other resources
You can also find ASL videos with English voiceover and captions on Minnesota Department of Health's YouTube playlist.
Additional videos on COVID-19 topics, also funded by the Minnesota Department of Health, are available on the Keystone Interpreting Solution's COVID-19 Microsite.
If you do not use ASL, you may call the Minnesota Department of Health's COVID-19 Public Hotline at 1-833-431-2053.
