SSIS is seeking agencies to pilot Statewide Release v22.2 April 27th through May 25, 2022. Pilot agencies test out new and changed functions in upcoming releases. Most pilot work is regular day to day work in SSIS.
New and changed functionality in Release v22.2 includes:
Adoption and Kinship updates:
- Removed - Discussion
- Removed - Income Offset Requirement
- Require MAPCY for all Eligibility Determinations (including At Risk – new)
- Added, removed, updated questions in the eligibility determination document for both Adoption and Kinship
- Added Additional Help Text
- New benefit agreements for Northstar Adoption Assistance, Northstar At Risk Adoption Assistance, Northstar Kinship Assistance
- Move Pre-school Rate (Alternative rate) to SSIS DHS - Pre-school Rate is determined using the date the Adopting Parent/Relative Custodian signed the benefit agreement
- It used to be when the eligibility determination document was initially submitted to DHS
The OHPP has been updated to use merge fields for the EPY/PPY and QRTP Family and Permanency Team information.
EPS email notifications now have a "From" email address of "DoNotReply@state.mn.us". This is to bypass email spoofing configurations set up in some agencies that prevent delivering the email notifications. Recipients of this email can still email the individual listed as the sender.
CMH Screening Updates:
- The CMH Screening screen has been updated to no longer require the CMH Screening Tool, Score and whether the child was referred for a diagnostic assessment in order to save the screen when Status is ‘Screening Tool Completed. Instead, a warning message will display indicating that the screening information is incomplete.
- The CMH Screening Screen has also been updated to no longer require ‘Diagnostic assessment completed’ or ‘Diagnostic Assessment Date’ in order to save if the child has been referred for a diagnostic assessment. Instead, a warning message will display indicating the assessment referral information is incomplete.
Contact Lisa Litchfield or the SSIS Help Desk for more information regarding being a pilot agency.
SSIS workgroup ‘program type’ field is not an editable field. When a client or family involved in a workgroup will be changing programs, it is important to remember to close the originating workgroup and then open a new workgroup, with the new program type, at the time that transition occurs. This will ensure there is not confusion with where to enter notes for each workgroup and the user can avoid having to delete and recreate notes entered in the wrong workgroup. This will also decrease the need to submit data fix requests for these situations.
A common example of this is when a child open to a Children’s Mental Health (CMH) Workgroup transitions to Adult Mental Health (AMH). At the time the child is transitioning from one program to the other, whether they will remain with same worker or have a new AMH worker, the CMH workgroup should be closed and an AMH Workgroup should be opened. All notes pertaining to the CMH Workgroup would be left in the closed CMH Workgroup. Any notes pertaining to the child’s AMH services would go in the new workgroup.
Agency IT staff are asked to email the SSIS Help Desk two weeks prior to making firewall and password changes, or changing out an agency server, in order to coordinate any needed updates for fiscal interfaces.
Fiscal interfaces are used for payment batches as well as vendor import. If there is no communication between SSIS and the agency accounting system, payment batches and vendors will not be updated.
This notification information should also be used for any changes made to the OpenLink server
DHS bulletins are official communication to inform county and tribal staff, as well as other DHS business partners, about program changes and required actions by workers and partner agencies. Subscribe to receive Bulletin updates on the Minnesota Department of Human Services bulletin website.
SSIS users are invited to register for upcoming coffee talk webinars. Registration is required for each session and will close one hour prior to the event. Questions are appreciated in advance and should be directed to the SSIS Help Desk.
Webinars will be recorded and posted to the Minnesota Child Welfare Training Academy (MNCWTA) website following each event.
