Implementing Family First Prevention Services Act (Family First) involves learning and applying new residential placement requirements and processes and integrating them into practice.
Department staff have compiled a list of frequently asked questions (FAQ’s) to assist with understanding how these new components are to be implemented.
Family First Residential Placement FAQ
Included in the FAQ are some questions and answers that distinguish Family First from the Children’s Mental Health (CMH) Residential Services Path (known as the Third Path).
CMH Residential Services Path is a service not a placement. Department staff will be publishing a bulletin as well as a FAQ document to provide county and tribal agencies with information on this new service. Guidance is forthcoming.
Resources:
The department has a public website that provides up-to-date information on Family First including practice guidance and instructions, tools, bulletins, program information, trainings and registration information.
