Thanks and appreciation to all agencies for swift reporting to the SSIS Help Desk when connection issues were experienced Friday, February 4, 2022.
Additionally, thank you for your patience during resolution. Horizon broker servers experienced performance issues and rebooting them resolved the connection issues.
Efforts to identify and resolve performance issues specific to SSIS applications, and MAARC for county and Tribal agencies continue:
- SSIS Help Desk continues to monitor reports related to slowness and performance.
- Monitoring of the Horizon servers at various times of the day for issues and reports to the appropriate teams if necessary. No out of the ordinary issues found.
- Piloting of new Horizon server farm:
- Scott County technical staff are ramping up their current user group to 150+ on the new farm; performance and user experience has greatly improved.
- Washington County technical staff are ramping up their user group to 50+.
- Analyzing moving state permanency workers to new servers.
- Started planning for future expansion of users to new servers.
- The MNIT Enterprise Network team has engaged Microsoft premier support for assistance.

A series of articles and helpful hints have been designed to provide guidance when completing the Social and Medical History for a Child in Foster Care document (DHS-6754A-ENG) required when children and youth remain in foster care past six months and are in need of permanency.

The SSIS Help Desk provides first level assistance to SSIS mentors, SSIS coordinators, and agency supervisors, handling approximately 9,000 reports annually. Help desk staff communicate regularly with internal and external partners, monitor issues, and escalate tickets to the next tier when needed.
At this time SSIS Help Desk staff do not have access to a shared phone line and are only able to receive voicemails, return calls, and respond to emails. In effort to provide the most positive and time effective customer service experience, agency SSIS mentors, coordinators and supervisors are encouraged to contact the Help Desk via email, providing as much detail as possible. If agency contacts would like to speak to a specific Help Desk staff member, a voice mail message can be left at 651-431-4801. Calls will be returned in the order they are received or by matter of urgency.
When resetting passwords, creating new users, changing Roles, Units, or Departments, best practice is to close all open windows in SSIS and log off the application.
If email confirmation of a password reset has not been received by the user within ten minutes, contact the SSIS Help Desk.
Thank you to those who have provided feedback regarding OHPP in SSIS. User feedback is also being sought regarding the Help text feature when completing an OHPP in SSIS. Help text is found throughout SSIS and can be used when assistance is needed. The Help text button is located to the right of various fields in each section of an OHPP.
Concerns and suggestions for improvement are always welcome and can be submitted to the SSIS Help Desk.
