DHS was unable to update the projected nursing facility care cost on AC and ECS eligibility worksheets
Background
DHS uses nursing facility rate data to determine eligibility for the Alternative Care (AC) and Essential Community Supports (ECS) programs. Due to delays in receiving the nursing facility cost data used to establish the nursing facility rates DHS is unable to determine the new threshold for eligibility determination at this time.
What do you need to know?
Until further notice, when determining eligibility for the AC and ECS programs, continue to use the current versions of the AC and ECS eligibility worksheets, which include the 2021 nursing facility rates. Use the current worksheet versions, dated 12-21 and located in eDocs:
-
DHS-2630 Alternative Care Program Eligibility Worksheet for Unmarried Individuals or Married Couples When Both May Choose the Alternative Care Program or a Married Person Whose Spouse Is an EW Recipient or Is Living in a Nursing Facility (line M)
-

-
DHS-6683 Essential Community Supports Program (ECS) Financial Eligibility Worksheet (line M)

MMIS will continue to use the 2021 nursing facility rates at this time. We will update MMIS with new information as soon as it becomes available.
How will you know when DHS publishes the updated eligibility worksheets?
As soon as this information becomes available, we will update the AC and ECS eligibility worksheets with the correct information and send another eList announcement confirming the updates.
