The Early Intensive and Developmental Behavioral Interventions (EIDBI) program provides services for children birth to 21 who have:
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or related conditions. Related conditions are severe and chronic similar to symptoms of ASD and likely to respond to treatment. Examples: fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), down syndrome, fragile X syndrome, or tourette’s syndrome, reactive attachment disorder, etc.
Children are also eligible if displaying risk factors for ASD, such as, prematurity, siblings with ASD, signs of ASD core deficits, but not yet diagnosed.
Services are available to any caregiver and can occur in any setting except a hospital. Early intervention services:
- Teach social interaction and communication skills
- Build independence with self-care and safety skills
- Increase participation in home, school & community life

Audience: advocates, behavioral health providers, caregivers, clinicians, educators, families, lead agencies, managed care organizations, mental health professionals, occupational therapists, other stakeholders, self-advocates, speech and language pathologists, Tribal nations
Department staff will share information about:
- Resources to help coordinate services across services teams and systems
- How to access Medical Assistance and supports
- How to navigate the Minnesota Autism Resource Portal website.
