Mental Health Targeted Case Management (MH TCM) Rule 79 Training Webpage Updated

The DHS Behavioral Health Division has updated the webpage for Adult and Children’s Mental Health Targeted Case Management, referred to as Mental Health Targeted Case Management (MH TCM), Rule 79 training.  The new Mental Health Targeted Case Management Trainings webpage provides access to the commissioner approved trainings available to case managers.

The Mental Health Targeted Case Management Rule 79 curriculum is now presented in a hybrid model designed to provide the case manager with a well-rounded set of skills that integrates equity and person-centered practices into their everyday work. Students will find access to 8 hours of webinar-based instructor-led training offered throughout the year.  In addition, students have access to many on-demand courses that offer flexibility.  Students can use the Mental Health Targeted Case Management webpage for additional information, including how to get to the Learning Center.  Instructions are also provided for how to enroll in a TrainLink class.

Target Audience: Adult and children’s mental health targeted case managers who have not had 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of mental health services to adults with mental illness or children with a severe emotional disturbance (SED) must have 40 hours of commissioner-approved AMH or CMH TCM Rule 79 training, MH TCM.

Legal Reference: The MH TCM Rule 79 curriculum has been approved by the Commissioner of the Department of Human Services to meet the legal content requirements.

Adult Mental Health Act, Minnesota Statutes 245.462, subdivision 4(e)(2)

Children’s Mental Health Act, Minnesota Statutes, 245.4871, subdivision 4(f)

Please note this curriculum is continuing to undergo revisions. New trainings will be added and current trainings may be modified. The revisions will be reflected on this webpage as they occur.
