CMS approves payments retroactively to October 1, 2020
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has approved Minnesota Medicaid (Medical Assistance) coverage of Certified Clinical Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC) services, retroactive to October 1, 2020..
Minnesota’s state plan amendment authorizing expanded coverage is now posted on the Minnesota Department of Human Services website.
CCBHCs ensure timely access to integrated, evidence-based substance use disorder and mental health services, including 24/7 crisis response and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for addiction. Minnesota is the fourth state in the nation to include CCBHC in its Medicaid state plan.
