Forwarded on behalf of the DHS Housing and Support Services Division
Date: June 1, 2020 To: Lead agencies, service providers and all interested stakeholders From: DHS Disability Services Division Purpose: To share information on an upcoming webinar Effective: Immediately
Housing Stabilization Services is coming July 2020! This new Medical Assistance benefit will help people with disabilities and seniors find and keep housing. As you know, for youth (over age 18), vulnerable adults, and people with disabilities, access to safe, independent housing can be challenging. Housing Stabilization Services can help by providing the support many people need to achieve housing stability.
Child Welfare and VA/DD Targeted Case Managers will have a special role to help people served access this benefit. The Minnesota Department of Human Services is hosting a training to help Targeted Case Managers understand their role in these new services and how it can benefit the people you serve.
Who should attend?
- Targeted Case Management supervisors and staff
What will I learn?
- How you can help the people you serve access Housing Stabilization Services
- How to complete a Housing Focused Person-Centered plan for the people you serve
- Your role and expectations for working with people receiving Housing Stabilization Services
Note: This presentation will NOT include in-depth information on the rules and requirements for Housing Stabilization Services. Participants who have not previously attended an overview presentation are encouraged to do so prior to the webinar; a recording of this presentation can be found at the Housing Benefits 101 website.
Date/Time: Tuesday, June 2, 2020 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.
Registration is required for this event.
What if I can’t attend?
We encourage all TCM providers to attend live if possible. This will give you the opportunity to ask DHS staff questions as needed. A recorded version of the presentation (without the discussion) will be available to view after the webinar.
