Due to COVID-19, there was a delay in the process for calculating the Northstar basic and supplemental rates for fiscal year 2020-2021. These rates have not been updated in SSIS. Therefore, service arrangements and MAPCY supplemental rates, beginning July 1, 2020, will not calculate the new rates. Please wait to enter service arrangements with start dates after July 1, 2020 until further notice by SSIS staff.
The new bulletin regarding the Northstar Basic and supplemental rates for 2020-2021 will be published in the upcoming weeks. To sign up for bulletins to be sent to your email, please go to the DHS Bulletin page and enter your email address at the bottom of the page. If you have any questions related the upcoming rates or need SSIS technical assistance, please contact the SSIS Help Desk.
The document VA-CEP Frequently Asked Questions has been removed from the SSIS Adult Protection Worker Training Site and the SSIS Worker Documentation Page (Adult Maltreatment) on County Link. The information associated with the document titled “VA-CEP Frequently Asked Questions” has been incorporated into the SSIS Adult Maltreatment Module. The SSIS Adult Maltreatment Module contains step-by-step SSIS processes as well as frequently asked questions related to Adult Protection through SSIS version 20.1.
Please review Adult Protection and the Social Service Information System (SSIS) Information and Frequently Asked Questions. This FAQ contains answers to frequently asked questions about features in newer SSIS versions that have not yet been added to the SSIS Adult Maltreatment Module. It will be updated with each SSIS version release.
Due to popular demand, an additional SSIS Adult Protection virtual course will be held on June 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The SSIS Adult Protection Worker course follows the life of a vulnerable adult maltreatment case starting with the intake received from MAARC through the investigation and closing of a case. This training is a 6 hour course, replacing the previous VA-CEP course. It is designed for new adult protection workers who are directly responsible for completing Adult Maltreatment Reports as well as experienced workers seeking a refresher. While other types of workers can benefit from this training, it may be necessary to limit registration to adult services social workers and supporting staff when space is limited. Prior to registering for SSIS Adult Protection Worker Training, the SSIS Essentials eLearning courses should be completed preceding the class start date. Registration is through TrainLink and closes two days before the class start date. Trainees who have not registered for or taken a course on TrainLink must register for a unique key. To find the SSIS Adult Protection Worker course from TrainLink, select Children’s Services from the list of Leaning Centers, click the Class Schedule, and search under the category All SSIS Classes. Select the class date you wish to register for and click Enroll in this class or Join the Waitlist if the class is full.
