On April 21, 2020, the Commissioner approved two waivers to modify two requirements for children in out-of-home placement.
First, a temporary modification to the requirement in Minnesota Statute, section 260C.212, subdivision 1, to provide child welfare case managers 60 days to complete written out-of-home placement plans. Second, a modification to suspend the requirements that the responsible social service agency review a child’s recent medical care record at initial placement, and arrange preventative medical exam within 30 days of placement and annually thereafter. Our SSIS Mentor program continues to develop and grow based on feedback. SSIS Mentors are the main contacts in agencies for SSIS-related needs. Contracted workers are asked to consult with agency SSIS Mentors as their main point of contact when seeking guidance with SSIS-related issues. Mentors can assist with resetting passwords as well as reopening closed work groups. If additional assistance is needed, mentors and agency supervisors should contact the SSIS Help Desk. Please also connect with Heide Moris for questions about serving as an SSIS Mentor.
