On behalf of the SSIS Mentor and Training Workgroup, thank you for attending the SSIS Mentor Forum on Nov. 5. We were thrilled to have so many mentors join us in-person and online. The minutes from this meeting are available here. The SSIS training schedule for 2020 will be announced soon!
Moving forward, we are seeking mentors interested in joining the newly formed SSIS Resource Review Team. Members of this team will review and provide feedback on the SSIS resources available to mentors and workers. Email Eric Kratt, lead SSIS trainer, if you are interested in joining.
SSIS V19.4 was released statewide on Dec. 4. This presentation outlines the enhancements and new features in this release. Within this document you may click on the orange note box in the upper left hand corner for more information.
Join the upcoming ICWA Coffee Talk taking place the first Wednesday of the month from 9–10 a.m. These monthly webinars review Minnesota Indian Family Preservation Act (MIFPA) and Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) provisions and engage in a dialogue with a question and answer format. Each month will focus on a distinct ICWA provision, its requirements, and steps and strategies for implementation. Prior registration is required and participants are encouraged to bring questions.

DHS is seeking three volunteer agencies to pilot the upcoming SSIS V20.1 release. The pilot dates are Jan. 29 through Feb. 26, 2020. Changes in this release include:
- AFCARS Repository modified to include BRASS Service Code 172.
- Changes to Permanency Plans:
- Update the Continuous Placements grid report.
- Updates to Child Placement Detail Report – by Occurrence or by Continuous Placement.
- Child Ward Summary Report updates.
- Permanency Plan Help Text.
- Sexually Exploited Youth/Sexually Trafficked Youth (SEY/STY)
- Data entry changes.
- SEY/STY Help Text.
- Adult Maltreatment
- Resident to Resident maltreatment allegations.
- Disable delete of adult maltreatment report in intake and assessment.
- Disable delete of adult maltreatment intake allegations.
- Disable Delete of adult maltreatment tabs.
- Add Collateral Contact as a claimable activity for a Face to Face claim under BRASS service code 490.
- New Business Organization report – Services Offered by Service.
- Disability Waiver Rates System is removed from Tools main menu. The security function of Access RSMI application is also removed.
- Birth Date business rules will allow a date to be entered for a person 175 years of age instead of 150 for ICWA Tribal Lineage.
