Please share the following information with anyone whom you know who may be interested.

The Minnesota Department of Human Services, Behavioral Health Division, Tobacco Prevention and Control Section has an Excellent Opportunity for 16 year old youth or a 15 year old youth who is within 30 days of their 16th birthday.  Currently we have multiple positions open for a youth who is able to work a minimum of one eight hour shift per week M-F between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM during the school year. Home/Online/ALC or Post-Secondary students are especially well suited for this program.  The youth will be working with an adult Inspector to verify compliance of Tobacco Retailers with the Federal Tobacco Control Act. This is a year round, part-time paid position which currently pays $13.00 per hour.  This job involves going into a wide variety of establishments including bars, liquor stores, grocery stores, convenience stores, tobacco shops, etc. in an attempt to purchase various tobacco products.  Youth must be comfortable and capable of entering these types of establishments regularly.  We are currently in need of one youth in the southeast, south central and southwest portions of the state.  This region encompasses the 27 southern most counties in Minnesota stretching from Wisconsin to South Dakota along the Iowa border.  A total of 3 youth will be selected for this region, one for each area.  We also have an opening for two youth in either the Isanti, Chisago or Anoka county areas and for one youth in the Ottertail, Grant, Clay, Wilkin or Douglas county region.  We will re-post when positions in other areas of the state become available.  For more information concerning this program, or to apply, please email your contact information to:
