Congratulations and thank you to all local agency staff on getting more of the placement discharges entered onto the system before 60 days have passed. This is the first time in many years that we are below 9% errors on discharge timeliness.
Please keep working to improve timely entry of discharges from out-of-home care. When the new AFCARS regulation is finalized, the timeline will change to 30 days. We don’t yet have an exact date of when the new timeline will take effect, but it is likely to be within 2 years. Any good habits we can establish now will be a giant help in meeting the shorter timeline in the future.
DHS thanks you for your diligent efforts to reduce the timeliness errors. Keep up the good work!
The SSIS Tier 1 Help Desk as well as the Fiscal Subject Matter Experts (Fiscal SMEs) are now being supervised by Cynthia Shypulski.

The Child Safety and Permanency division staff continues to work on addressing gaps and creating more effective processes. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this continued transition!
When initiating a Child Maltreatment Report transfer in SSIS, it is important that the receiving agency receive a courtesy notification email or phone call. Even with thorough and frequent review of the Intakes Needing Action log, a transferred child maltreatment report can be overlooked by the receiving agency.

The next SSIS Repository upload will be December 26, 2018 for agencies that are not yet centralized.
Note: Agencies no longer need to email the DHS Help Desk or other MNIT staff when monthly uploads have been completed. If an upload is not completed by the deadline, MNIT staff will reach out individually.
