Do you have experience in SSIS? Do you have Mentor or Coordinator
or other extensive experience in SSIS? Looking for a new challenge? There is a current posting for a Human Services Program
Representative 1 in the SSIS Business Operations Unit at DHS! This position is open to external applicants through Wednesday, Oct. 17.
As a Tier 1 SSIS Help Desk professional you will provide a point
of entry for information and problem resolution for Social Services
Information System (SSIS) users throughout Minnesota. In this position you will
work in a high volume and time sensitive environment and must be able to
research, analyze and determine how to provide effective user support. This
position can have a significant impact on ensuring all SSIS users throughout the
local agencies and Child Safety and Permanency Division (CSP) internal staff
understand how to enter data correctly to support the policies, practices and
rules for each program area. You will play an influential role in the
development, implementation, testing and maintenance of a centralized process
for intercepting, routing and responding to the needs and questions of its
users.
Apply through Minnesota Careers by October 17. Job ID is 27264. Contact Cynthia Shypulski (651-431-4791), SSIS Business Operations Supervisor, with questions.
The November SSIS mentor meetings
have been cancelled in order to encourage county/tribal staff to attend the
annual Minnesota Child
Welfare Conference on November 14-16.
SSIS version 18.4 contains minor enhancements and fixes but no significant functionality changes. Department
staff wants to respect the time and resources of local agency staff who would
normally attend the mentor meetings and will continue to communicate further details about SSIS 18.4, including release notes and training resources.
Workgroups can be re-opened by staff who have the ‘Reset Errors’
function assigned to their role. To re-open a workgroup, right-click on the workgroup and select Maintenance>Re-open Workgroup. There is no restriction to re-opening case management or assessment workgroups.
Local agencies may re-open intakes workgroups if they are
still in the “Intakes Needing Action” stage. Maltreatment reports can be
re-opened within 30 days of closure. After 30 days, intake workgroups cannot be
reopened by the local agency, and require a data fix request through the Help
Desk to re-open. If this occurs, a policy review of the request may also be
required.
There are limited circumstances in which a worker needs to
re-open a workgroup. Most final data clean-up can be done while the workgroup
is closed. Case notes, time records and appeals information can be completed at
any time without re-opening the workgroup.
Appropriate reasons for re-opening a workgroup include: when the workgroup is closed in error; when the DHS quality assurance review team has asked
to have the workgroup re-opened as part of work needing completion, or if the
local agency conducts a reassessment of a workgroup close.

The next SSIS Repository upload will be October 25, 2018 for agencies that are not yet centralized.
Note: Agencies no longer need to email the DHS Help Desk or other MNIT staff when monthly uploads have been completed. If an upload is not completed by the deadline, MNIT staff
will reach out individually.
