Two bugs were identified following statewide release of SSIS V18.3. Both are related to the electronic transfer of a Child Maltreatment
Report (CMR) from one agency to another. These bugs were fixed via a database
service release on Friday evening, and should no longer be an issue. But
some existing reports may display the symptoms of the problems the bugs
caused. A description of those bugs and action taken is as follows:
- Text was being cut off in the “Description of
Incident” section of a transferred CMR. This appeared to have happened only on
those reports where information had been cut from a document and pasted into
the CMR. This required the originating agency to send a manual copy OR to
manually type the “Description of Incident” instead of copying/pasting. Again,
this issue has been fixed and should no longer occur.
- When the sending and receiving agency both have
a participant cleared to SWNDX, but there are slightly different spellings of
the name (e.g. one agency’s record included a middle initial and the other
agency’s did not), a second “Current legal name” was created in the receiving
agency’s system. With the SSIS fix, the second "Current legal name"
from the sending agency will be recorded as “Other” in the receiving agency’s
system.
SSIS will be working on data fixes for the 2nd bug, and will
be looking into a data fix for the 1st bug. Further information will be
communicated when these fixes are available.
See the SSIS Release Information page for release notes and additional known defects.
SSIS V18.3 includes new functionality to transfer Child
Maltreatment Report (CMR) data from one agency to another. This
enhancement was initiated based on recommendations of the Governor’s Task
Force on the Protection of Children and is set to accomplish two significant
work effort reductions:
- Reduce
the time spent by users in the sending agency manually communicating CMR data
to the receiving agency.
- Reduce
the time spent by users in the receiving agency to re-entering CMR data into SSIS,
which also increases data accuracy.
V18.3 also includes ICWA active efforts requirements. Active
efforts are a rigorous and concerted level of case work that uses prevailing
social and cultural values, conditions and way of life of an Indian child’s
tribe(s) to preserve an Indian child’s family, to prevent out-of-home placement
of an Indian child and, if placement occurs, to return an Indian child to their
family at the earliest possible time.
