Fast-Tracker Update

Computer

As you may know, last September, Fast-Tracker for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) http://www.fast-trackermn.org/, Minnesota’s first searchable online tool to facilitate quicker access to SUD treatment became “live”. Now individuals, family members, detox staff, assessors, physicians, primary care clinics, treatment staff, and others, can search this site to find real-time availability of statewide substance use disorder services - a critical element of a modern SUD system of care. The website can help people find YOUR program and assist YOUR staff in finding resources for individuals they are working with.

Please view e-Memo #18-88 to view the update.

Working Together to End the Opioid Epidemic

DHS has launched a new webpage: Working Together to End the Opioid Epidemic. There you will find information about what DHS is doing to increase awareness, decrease the number of persons who develop opioid use disorder and reduce the harms resulting from opioid addiction.

For more information and to register visit the Minnesota Center for Chemical and Mental Health website.

Did you Know?

Quotation marks

    1. That the originating site is the site where the patient is receiving telemedicine, and the licensed health care provider is at a distant site.
    2. That SUD reform efforts support the efforts of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Triple Aim.  The IHI Triple Aim is a framework developed by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement that describes an approach to optimizing health system performance.

Question 1: Are credentials needed to provide substance use disorder services affected when the service is delivered via telemedicine?

Question 2:  What are the three dimensions of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Triple Aim?

Tune in next week for these answers and more with Did You Know!
