Substance Use Disorder Reform Discussion and Panel

This e-Memo is an update to e-Memo #18-03.  The ITV session on January 9th is from 10:00-11:00 am

As you probably know, for the past year, we have been working with counties, tribes, providers, and the communities to remake and streamline client access to treatment and the state’s assessment and placement process. As we move closer to completing these SUD reform efforts, DHS will be holding a series of on-going ITV sessions to use your input in identifying and thoughtfully considering issues related to the implementation.

Background:

  1. Beginning in 7/1/2018 and extending through to 6/30/2020, counties and tribes may choose to implement a parallel process, using both:
  • the existing Rule 25 placing authority process, as well as
  • open access at a provider level without county or tribal placement.

       2. As of 7/1/2020, Rule 25 assessment, timelines, placing authorities will no longer exist.

Therefore, SUD reform will create local and regional specific concerns and impacts that will require local and regional consideration and strategic solutions.

What we are asking:

DHS is asking counties and tribes to take part in a series of on-going ITV sessions about the parallel process and SUD reform implementation.

Dates:

  • Session One:  January 9,2018, from 10-11 a.m.

About ITV: For those familiar with the WebEx format we’re currently using, ITV may be new. We are trying ITV because it should allow for more interactive discussion, and may be easier for questions and possibly panel discussions. Please note, we will continue to also use the WebEx format for on-going communication.
